Prof. Vogel is a clinician scientist at the rank of a full professor at the University of Toronto, Canada. He is appointed as the Longo Family Chair in Liver Cancer Research and is leading a multi-pronged research program in basic and clinical science at the Toronto General Hospital and the Princess Margarete Cancer Center. Before joining UNH, he worked as senior consultant at Hannover Medical School for more than 20 years and still holds a research position there.
Prof. Vogel’s scientific focus is the translational and clinical research in gastrointestinal cancer. Since 2004, he is leading a translational research group interested in the pathogenesis of hepatobiliary cancers and in precision medicine. Arndt Vogel is a clinical investigator in oncology since 2006 and has served as principal investigator on numerous clinical trials. He is author or co-author of more than 330 articles published in peer-reviewed journals including Lancet, Lancet Oncology, Cancer Cell, and Gastroenterology among others.
Prof. Vogel is member of societies including ESMO, ASCO, and EASL. He is member and chairman of Hepatobiliary Cancer Study Group of the AIO, a collaborative group in clinical oncology in Germany. Within ESMO, he is member of the ESMO Guidelines Steering Committee. He has responsibilities in the establishment of the national guideline and is the coordinator of the ESMO clinical practice guideline on the management of hepatocellular carcinoma and biliary tract cancer.

Dr. Narayanan is a Professor of Radiology at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and the Chief of Interventional Oncology at the Miami Cancer Institute. He is a world renowned in his field of IO and has published a multitude of papers in prestigious peer reviewed journals, including sentinel papers on using IRE percutaneously for ablation of the pancreas and colorectal cancer metastatic to the liver both of which were on the first human experience.
He has lectured around the world on IO topics, and gave the honorary Rosch lecture at CIRSE 2019 in Barcelona and more recently gave the International Oration at the Indian Society of Interventional Radiology conference in 2023. He has served as the guest editor of journals and is also the author of a number of books and monographs and is the founder of the annual international multidisciplinary IO conference called Spectrum,held in Miami every year in January.
Dr. Narayanan is considered the global expert in imaged guided ablations, especially irreversible electroporation (IRE). He pioneered the percutaneous technique to treat pancreatic cancer with imaging guidance using IRE. His work in this space was chosen by the Journal of Vascular & Interventional Radiology (JVIR) first as an “Abstract of the Year” and later was awarded the prestigious, “Study of the Year”, award by JVIR at the Society of Interventional Radiology Conference in 2018.
His reputation in the world of ablation and IRE brought Quantum Surgical a robotic company based in France to Baptist health to place the first robot in the United States at MCVI and the first patient in the USA was treated with robotic assisted microwave ablation by Dr. Narayanan on May 5th 2023.
Dr.Narayanan helped establish and served as the founding Chairman of the first independent Department of Interventional Radiology in the country at the University of Miami School of Medicine in 2016, where he rose to the rank of Professor of Interventional Radiology and Professor of Clinical Urology.

Dr. Martin de Santibañes holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Buenos Aires and specializes in Hepato-Bilio-Pancreatic Surgery and Transplantation. He is an Attending Surgeon and Deputy Chief at the Italian Hospital of Buenos Aires (HIBA), where he also coordinates the General Surgery Residency and serves as a Professor. Dr. de Santibañes was awarded the Dr. Murray F. Brennan International Guest Scholar in 2022 by the American College of Surgeons.
